WEST HILL BLOG No. 22 Fifty tonnes of stone arrives

The day arrives when a mountain of stone arrives to construct the paths. Fifty tonnes of 20 mm crushed stone is then loaded by JCB on to a small dumper which then tips the stone along the paths.
Sheets of black Mypex are laid down first so to prevent any weed growth.

The next phase of the operation is to level the stone, where needed add more stone, then compact it with a whacker plate so there is a hard smooth finish.
